Nara Meyyappan
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Nara founded Gallia Semiconductor in Feb 2014. He has an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY with 30 years experience in the semiconductor industry. He holds 4 U.S. Patents and authored 10 publications. He has worked for two major semiconductor equipment suppliers in the U.S., MRC and Eaton/Axcelis. He also worked for an 8” Silicon CMOS Foundry in Malaysia, named Silterra, and a major U.S. manufacturer of 8” Si and Si Epi wafers in Malaysia, MEMC/SunEdison. He is managing Gallia and is committed to making Gallia successful. He has operations management experience and a good startup track record. He also has semiconductor equipment, process and materials background. He is an expert in Ion Implantation and SOI (SIMOX) with a keen interest in semiconductor materials research and innovation.

John Benoist
V.P. Business Development

John has an M.B.A. degree in Industrial Marketing with 41 years experience in the semiconductor industry. John is a veteran in the semiconductor industry and worked for a number of major equipment manufacturers amongst which The Perkin Elmer Corporation, co-founded Matrix Integrated Systems then moved on to General Signal Semiconductor Equipment Group . The most recent job before retiring from corporate life in late 2009 was with the Dutch equipment manufacturer, ASMI, for 15 years. John’s geographical experience stretches from Europe, the USA and the last 15 years in Asia. John will bring in new customers to qualify them on this innovative material.

Fukumi Tomino
V.P. Japan Operations

Fukumi has a B.Sc. Degree in Electrocommunication. Fukumi has more than 40 years experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry. In his initial years he worked for Marubeni Electronics Co. Ltd. selling variuos semiconductor systems in Japan. Later he joined ASM Japan KK, a subsidiary of ASMI, where he built up the organisation and a strong customer base. After retirement from ASMI in 2010, he started his consultancy firm FTR Coropration. Fukumi will manage the acquisition of the HVPE R&D machine and related IP with manufacturing rights. In the near term, he will oversee the delivery of the R&D machine to our selected location and lead the design/manufacture of the production HVPE machine. In the long term, Fukumi will continue to market and sell our products in Japan.
